Clear Channel Outdoor Renews and Expands Northwest Florida Airport Deal
2026-10-28 · via DailyDOOH
Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings has renewed and expanded its advertising and sponsorship agreement with Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP), extending a relationship that began in 2005. The deal was reselected through a competitive process and covers an initial three-year term with an option to renew, according to the company.
For operators watching the airport DOOH segment, the headline item is a new network of double-sided digital flags planned throughout the concourse, which Clear Channel describes as the centerpiece of the refreshed program. The release does not specify display sizes, pixel pitch, media player hardware, or content management software involved, so the technical footprint of the rollout is unclear at this stage.
The agreement coincides with a major terminal expansion and modernization project at ECP, expected to reach completion in 2029. Clear Channel says it will make a significant investment in advertising infrastructure over the contract term, including what it calls state-of-the-art media, experiential activations, and refreshed displays, alongside the new digital signage. No dollar figures are disclosed.
Morten Gotterup, president of Clear Channel Outdoor's Airports Division, framed the renewal as validation of a long partnership, saying the airport performs well above its size and that the new program will combine digital, experiential and high-impact media. ECP Executive Director Parker W. McClellan Jr. said the investment would modernize concourses and create new avenues for brands to reach passengers.
ECP reported 1.9 million passengers in 2025, a 3.1% year-over-year increase, and serves leisure travelers connecting through carriers including American, Delta, Southwest and United to major markets such as Atlanta, Dallas and New York.
For airport operators and advertisers, the deal signals continued consolidation of long-term media rights contracts at mid-size U.S. airports, with incumbent operators like Clear Channel using terminal expansion projects as leverage to deepen digital infrastructure investment rather than face open competition for the space.

Northwest Florida Beaches Airport Contract Renewal
Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCO) Airports Division , the leading U.S. airport sponsorship and advertising partner, has renewed and expanded its longstanding partnership with Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (IATA: ECP, ICAO: KECP, FAA LID: ECP).
Morten Gotterup , president, Clear Channel Outdoor Airports Division told us “ECP is a market that performs well above its size, and this renewal is a reflection of what a strong collaborative partnership produces over time. As ECP invests in the next generation of its terminal, we have an opportunity to invest into that experience and to build something that reflects both where this airport is today and where it’s headed. Our new program will bring together digital, experiential and high-impact media to continue to delight passengers and the brands that want to reach them for years to come.”
The renewed agreement, originally established back in 2005 and now reselected through a competitive process, reflects two decades of operational performance and the airport’s confidence in Clear Channel Outdoor’s ability to deliver on its next chapter of growth.
The agreement comes as ECP undertakes a major terminal expansion and modernization project, creating an opportunity for Clear Channel Outdoor to invest more into the airport’s advertising program with new digital media, experiential activations and refreshed displays. The centerpiece of the new program will be a network of double-sided digital flags throughout the concourse, introducing dynamic content and a contemporary digital media presence that integrates seamlessly and enhances the terminal environment.
Under the new agreement, Clear Channel Outdoor will make a significant investment in ECP’s advertising infrastructure over an initial three-year contract term and with the opportunity to renew. The investment will support the evolution of a curated and contemporary advertising program, with strategically positioned state-of-the-art media that complements the passenger experience and the airport’s sense of place. The program will provide greater flexibility for advertisers while creating new opportunities for brands to engage travelers and support ECP’s long-term commercial growth.
ECP has experienced sustained growth since opening in 2010, serving a record 1.9 million passengers in 2025 representing a 3.1% year-over-year increase. The airport serves large, leisure-oriented audiences, with travelers visiting Northwest Florida’s Emerald Coast for vacations, weekend getaways and outdoor recreation. Through nonstop and seasonal service from American, Delta, Southwest and United Airlines, ECP connects the region with major markets including Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Denver, Houston, New York, Chicago and Baltimore. That traveler profile—arriving and ready to engage—makes ECP a compelling platform for brands looking to connect with consumers at the start of their trip.
“As ECP undergoes this major Terminal Expansion, we are focused on enhancing every element of the traveler experience. Clear Channel’s commitment to investing in state-of-the-art digital infrastructure and experiential activations will not only modernize our concourses but also provide powerful new avenues for local and national brands to connect with our growing passenger base. We are proud to build upon our history together and look forward to a new era of innovation that supports ECP’s long-term commercial vitality,” said ECP Executive Director Parker W. McClellan Jr., A.A.E .
The renewed partnership reflects Clear Channel Outdoor and ECP’s shared commitment to evolving the airport experience alongside the continued growth of Northwest Florida. As construction progresses toward the terminal expansion’s 2029 completion, the new advertising program will provide a flexible platform that grows with the airport creating new opportunities for brands to connect with travelers while supporting ECP’s long-term revenue goals.
