Clear Channel Outdoor (CCO) has renewed its advertising agreement with Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) and will install a network of double-sided digital displays throughout the concourse, the company announced. The deal matters to anyone tracking airport DOOH because it shows operators continuing to invest in digital infrastructure even at smaller regional airports, not just major international hubs.

The renewal follows a competitive selection process and extends a relationship between CCO and the airport that dates back to 2005, five years before ECP opened. Under the new agreement, CCO will invest in updated advertising infrastructure over an initial three-year contract term, with an option to renew.

The double-sided digital displays are described as the centerpiece of the new advertising program. CCO also says it will introduce experiential advertising opportunities and refreshed media installations, though the announcement does not specify what those experiential formats will look like or how many displays will be installed in total.

Timed to terminal expansion

The investment coincides with ECP's terminal modernization project, which is scheduled for completion in 2029. Pairing digital infrastructure upgrades with terminal construction is a common pattern in airport DOOH, since it lets operators build display networks into new concourse space rather than retrofitting existing areas.

ECP handled a record 1.9 million passengers in 2025, up 3.1% from the previous year, according to the release. The airport serves a largely leisure-oriented audience along Florida's Emerald Coast, with nonstop and seasonal service from American, Delta, Southwest and United connecting the region to markets including Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, New York and Chicago.

Morten Gotterup, president of Clear Channel Outdoor's Airports Division, said in a statement that "ECP is a market that performs well above its size, and this renewal is a reflection of what a strong collaborative partnership produces over time."

What it means for the category

For operators watching the airport DOOH space, this is another data point in a trend toward smaller, high-growth regional airports upgrading their advertising infrastructure alongside larger hub airports. The announcement does not disclose the value of the contract, the exact number of displays being added, or the display specifications and hardware vendor. It also does not say what the previous advertising setup at ECP looked like, making it hard to gauge the scale of the upgrade. For CCO, the deal extends a two-decade relationship and adds another airport to its digital advertising portfolio as the broader airport advertising category continues to attract investment from out-of-home operators.
