GSTV Appoints Eric Kozik as Permanent CEO

2026-10-09 · via DailyDOOH

GSTV, the digital media network that runs screens at tens of thousands of fuel retailer locations, has named Eric Kozik as its Chief Executive Officer. Kozik had been serving as interim President and CEO since earlier this year, and the move makes that role permanent.

For operators and advertisers working with GSTV, the appointment signals continuity rather than a shift in direction. Kozik was already GSTV's Chief Strategy Officer before taking the interim top job, where the company says he led efforts to grow its retailer network and build out its commerce and retail media business. According to the announcement, he has since introduced what the company calls a performance-focused commercial playbook and expanded partnerships with advertisers and retail brands.

Jim Wilson, CEO of Madhive and Chairman of GSTV's Board, is quoted in the announcement saying Kozik has demonstrated the leadership needed to drive the company forward and has made notable hires across the organization during his interim tenure.

Background in dealmaking, not media operations

Kozik's resume leans heavily toward finance and corporate development rather than content or hardware operations. Before joining GSTV, he was Head of Corporate Development and Innovation, M&A at Cox Media Group under Apollo ownership. Earlier in his career he worked in investment banking at Moelis & Company and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where the release says he executed more than $4 billion in transactions.

That background matters for anyone watching GSTV's trajectory. The company sits in the retail media and forecourt advertising space, competing for ad dollars against other out-of-home networks and in-store retail media platforms that have been consolidating and raising investment over the past few years. A CEO with a strategy and M&A background, rather than a broadcast or ad-sales one, suggests GSTV's board may be positioning the company for further deals, partnerships, or expansion of its retail media business rather than, say, a content or technology overhaul.

The announcement does not detail specific financial targets, new hires beyond the general reference to "notable hires," or any planned acquisitions. It also does not say whether Kozik's elevation comes with changes to GSTV's screen footprint, ad tech stack, or measurement partnerships, areas that would matter most to retailers and brands buying into the network. Those details, if they come, will likely surface in future announcements rather than this one, which reads as a formal confirmation of a leadership change already underway in practice.

GSTV Names Eric Kozik Chief Executive Officer

GSTV, the national media network engaging and entertaining targeted audiences at scale across tens of thousands of fuel retailers, this week finally announced the appointment of Eric Kozik as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following his service as interim President and CEO since earlier this year.

Jim Wilson , CEO, Madhive, and Chairman of the Board at GSTV told us “Since stepping into the interim CEO role earlier this year, Eric has demonstrated the vision, leadership, and industry expertise needed to drive GSTV forward. In a short time, he has set a course for new growth for the organization, introduced a performance focused commercial playbook, and expanded our partnerships with key advertisers and retailer brands. Moreover, he has elevated the focus on current and new talent, including notable hires throughout the organization.”

Eric brings extensive experience in strategy, finance, and corporate development across media, technology, and private-equity-backed businesses and a deep understanding of GSTV’s business, strategy, and growth opportunities.

Before his interim President and CEO role, he was GSTV’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), where he led the strategy to grow the company’s retail network and build its commerce and retail media business. Pairing strategic vision with financial rigor, he has a strong track record of driving transformation and value creation through both organic growth and strategic transactions.

Prior to GSTV, Eric served as Head of Corporate Development & Innovation, M&A at Cox Media Group under Apollo ownership, and earlier worked in investment banking at Moelis & Company and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he executed more than $4 billion in transactions.
