Intersection Adds Six Creators to LinkNYC Content Network

2026-10-08 · via DailyDOOH

Intersection, the operator of LinkNYC's public Wi-Fi kiosk network, is adding six social media creators to its LinkNYC Creator Network, according to the company. Their content will run on more than 4,000 screens across New York City's five boroughs from July through December 2026.

For operators of public and street-level digital signage, this is a case study in how a large out-of-home network keeps its screens relevant to local audiences rather than running straight advertising or static municipal information. LinkNYC reaches what Intersection says is 91% of New Yorkers and visitors monthly, and the company is positioning the Creator Network as a way to turn that reach into a destination for culture rather than just connectivity infrastructure.

The new additions include visual artist Devon Rodriguez (@devonrodriguezart), who draws portraits of strangers on the subway and has more than 43 million followers across Instagram and TikTok. Street-style photographer Johnny Cirillo of Watching New York (@watchingnewyork) is also joining, along with Sara Leeds, creator of the Doorman Stories interview series (@doormanstories). Rounding out the group are Chaheti Bansal (@rootedinspice), Patience Ojionuka (@patienceojionuka), and Meet Cutes NYC (@meetcutesnyc), a project documenting real-life encounters between New Yorkers that Intersection says has drawn more than 3.3 million followers.

Intersection says this builds on earlier Creator Network additions including accounts such as @haleyybaylee, @thetoast, @boywithnojob, @alexdwong, and @whatspoppin.

What this means for the format

The pitch here, in Chief Marketing Officer Esther Raphael's words, is about moving creator content "off social feeds and onto city streets." That is a notable positioning choice for DOOH: instead of competing with social platforms for attention, LinkNYC is using its screens to rebroadcast creators who already have large followings, betting that physical placement adds a layer of local relevance and discovery that a phone feed can't replicate.

The announcement does not say how creator content is selected for rotation against paid advertising on the same screens, what the commercial terms are for creators, or how performance is measured. It also does not specify whether this is a paid partnership, a licensing arrangement, or an unpaid promotional swap. For signage operators watching the DOOH ad model evolve, those details matter more than the roster itself: a network that can reliably convert existing creator audiences into street-level engagement, and prove it with data, would represent a meaningful model for other large-format public networks to copy. Without disclosed metrics, this remains a positioning move rather than a proven one.

Intersection Expands #LinkNYC Creator Network

Intersection , the experience-driven out-of-home media and technology company and advertising and content partner for LinkNYC, this week announced the newest expansion of its LinkNYC Creator Network.

Esther Raphael , Chief Marketing Officer at Intersection told us “This expansion highlights the power of bringing creator content off social feeds and onto city streets. Over the past few years, the LinkNYC Creator Network has been industry-leading in bridging the gap between digital content and physical audiences. These new creators each capture a different piece of what makes this city remarkable, and together, they’re signaling where the creator economy is headed next.”

From July through December 2026, six new creators will bring their content to more than 4,000 LinkNYC screens across all five boroughs, reinforcing LinkNYC’s role as a real-world stage for the voices shaping New York City culture. The new roster helps capture the essence of New York City, from the food that fuels it to the art that reimagines its streets.

Representing the art world, Devon Rodriguez (@devonrodriguezart), known for sketching strangers on New York City subways and handing them finished portraits, joins the Network with more than 43 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, making him one of the most-followed visual artists on social media. His upcoming memoir, Work in Progress, will be released September 29, 2026. “Every portrait I draw on the subway starts with a stranger and ends with a connection,” said Rodriguez. “LinkNYC is built on that same idea: it’s already standing where New Yorkers are, on their commute, on their corner. Having my work show up there, in the middle of the city that gave me the subway as my studio in the first place, feels like the most natural extension of what I’ve been doing since I started.”

In street style and fashion, Johnny Cirillo of Watching New York (@watchingnewyork) brings his street-style photography to the very sidewalks he’s spent nearly a decade documenting, reaching a combined audience of more than 2.4 million.

Highlighting a unique facet of NYC culture, Sara Leeds, creator of Doorman Stories (@doormanstories), brings her interview series that spotlights the doormen and building staff who anchor daily life across the city. “Doorman Stories only works because of New York’s density. The fact that millions of us live stacked on top of each other, and the people who welcome us home every day usually go unnoticed. Getting that story off a phone screen and onto a LinkNYC kiosk, standing on the same sidewalks where those buildings and those doormen actually are, is a different kind of full circle than we could ever get on social alone.”

Also joining the network are Chaheti Bansal (@rootedinspice), Patience Ojionuka (@patienceojionuka), and Meet Cutes NYC (@meetcutesnyc), whose chronicle of New Yorkers’ real-life encounters has drawn a following of more than 3.3 million.

This expansion builds on Intersection’s earlier work bringing creators such as @haleyybaylee, @thetoast, @boywithnojob, @alexdwong, and @whatspoppin to the platform.

Intersection is the company behind LinkNYC, the world’s fastest free public Wi-Fi network and an integral piece of New York City’s urban infrastructure. Across nearly 4,000 screens in all five boroughs, LinkNYC reaches 91% of New Yorkers and visitors each month. Through its Creator Network, Intersection is expanding LinkNYC’s role from a platform for connectivity into a destination for the culture that makes New York City distinct.
