Intersection Hits 50 Digital Screens on Chicago's Divvy Bikeshare Network

2026-08-19 · via DailyDOOH

Intersection has deployed its 50th digital screen across Chicago's Divvy bikeshare network, according to the company. The screens sit at bikeshare stations in areas including River North, the Loop, Lincoln Park and Fulton Market, and the company says the milestone extends what it calls the largest digital out-of-home network in the city.

For operators and buyers, the number itself is modest. Fifty screens is a small physical footprint compared to a full transit system. What matters here is how Intersection is bundling it. The Divvy screens are being sold alongside the company's existing Chicago Transit Authority inventory, where Intersection holds the exclusive ad sales contract covering rail, bus, station and street-level formats. Combined with more than 600 static bikeshare posters, Intersection says the pairing pushes total monthly impressions across its Chicago network past 2.5 billion.

Scott Goldsmith, Intersection's president and chief operating officer, said reaching 50 Divvy digital screens "marks a significant expansion of our Chicago footprint and reinforces our commitment to building the city's most dynamic media network." He framed the pitch to advertisers as pairing "the street-level vibrancy of Divvy hubs" with the company's broader transit reach.

What the network claims to offer

According to Intersection, the citywide network now reaches nearly five million Chicagoans monthly and delivers 850 million impressions across more than 500 screens on streets and transit systems. The Divvy displays are positioned at what the company calls high-dwell locations, meant to catch riders at eye level while they wait or unlock bikes. Intersection says the inventory supports both direct and programmatic buying, with the ability to adjust creative by time of day, weather triggers or local events.

The announcement does not say what hardware or media player is running the Divvy screens, nor does it give screen dimensions, resolution or specific station locations beyond the named neighborhoods. It also does not disclose pricing for direct or programmatic buys, or a timeline for further station rollouts.

Where this sits nationally

Intersection says its total network spans top US markets including New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston and San Francisco, along with regions such as New Jersey, Minneapolis, Seattle, Pittsburgh and Portland. Across all markets, the company claims more than 400,000 digital and static assets reaching over 50 million people monthly. The Chicago bikeshare deployment fits into that broader transit and street-furniture strategy rather than standing as a standalone product launch, and it reinforces Intersection's position as a consolidator of city-owned advertising contracts rather than a hardware or software vendor competing on screen specs.

Intersection’s 50th Divvy Bikeshare Network Screen

Intersection has announced the deployment of its 50th digital screen on Chicago’s Divvy bikeshare network. The milestone deepens Intersection’s footprint across Chicago’s most vibrant commercial and cultural corridors—including River North, the Loop, Lincoln Park, and Fulton Market—while strengthening its position as the largest digital out-of-home (DOOH) network in the city.

Scott Goldsmith , President and Chief Operation Officer at Intersection told us “Reaching 50 Divvy digital screens marks a significant expansion of our Chicago footprint and reinforces our commitment to building the city’s most dynamic media network. By pairing the street-level vibrancy of Divvy hubs with our broad CTA and suburban transit reach, we’re giving brands a powerful, connected ecosystem that captures attention at every stage of the consumer journey.”

Divvy’s digital screens are the latest addition to Intersection’s citywide DOOH network, reaching nearly five million Chicagoans each month. The network delivers 850 million impressions monthly on over 500 screens across Chicago’s streets and transit systems. The Divvy digital screens add additional scale and depth, providing advertisers with citywide visibility, neighborhood depth, and targeted coverage.

Placed directly at high-dwell Divvy stations, these state-of-the-art digital displays give advertisers a dynamic, eye-level presence where Chicagoans naturally gather and move. Further, the Divvy digital network offers real-time, flexible buying capabilities that can adjust seamlessly to time of day, live weather triggers, or local events. Divvy digital inventory is available via both direct, and programmatic buying channels.

Intersection also serves as the exclusive advertising sales partner for the Chicago Transit Authority, providing advertisers with rail, bus, station, and street-level media formats. By pairing Divvy’s digital network and 600+ static bikeshare posters with Intersection’s extensive CTA inventory, brands gain complete, agile coverage across all 77 Chicago neighborhoods. This combined network weaves campaigns directly into the daily flow of the city, surrounding consumers from bike stations and bus stops to train platforms and transit cars, generating over 2.5 billion impressions monthly.

Intersection’s total media network extends across the top U.S. media markets – New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston and San Francisco – in addition to other major regions such as New Jersey, Minneapolis, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Portland and more. In all, Intersection’s network reaches more than 50 million people monthly through more than 400,000 digital and static assets nationwide.
