ISE 2027 Expands Floor Space, Adds Second Venue and Digital Signage Summit

2026-09-22 · via DailyDOOH

Integrated Systems Europe has confirmed plans for its 2027 edition that will see the show grow its exhibition floor space and expand onto a second venue in Barcelona, according to organisers. For digital signage professionals who use ISE as a key buying and networking event, the changes signal a bigger, more sprawling show with a dedicated slot for the sector.

According to the announcement, ISE 2027's exhibition floor space is currently 7% larger than 2026, with organisers saying it may grow further before the event. The show is adding a new Outdoor Structure at the South Access and repeating a trial of exhibition booths in the East Access that ISE says was successful last year.

More notably for logistics, two co-located events, Spark and EdTech Congress Barcelona, will run out of Hall 8 at Fira Montjuic, a site the announcement says is four kilometres from the main Fira Gran Via venue. DailyDOOH suggests this split is likely due to delays in the arrival of a planned Hall Zero at Fira Gran Via, though ISE's announcement does not explain the reasoning directly. Attendees who want to catch both the main show and Spark or EdTech Congress will need to factor in travel time between sites. Both Spark and EdTech Congress Barcelona run 3-4 February.

For the digital signage trade specifically, ISE has confirmed three dedicated half-day summits for 2027 covering Digital Signage, Cybersecurity, and Control Rooms. The announcement gives no further detail on content, speakers or format for the digital signage summit.

On content more broadly, ISE says its paid programme will centre on an expanded Megatrends track, doubling in size and covering AI, robotics and machine learning, cybersecurity, smart spaces, sustainability and what the release calls Tradescape. A new Open Content Programme will run alongside it for free, including a Live Event Stage, an Investor Forum and a Fast Forward Friday session, plus partner programming from CEDIA and AVIXA.

ISE managing director Mike Blackman framed the expansion around a theme of "When Worlds Unite," saying interesting opportunities exist where different disciplines meet, according to the announcement.

The organisers have also confirmed two of three planned keynote speakers: former Google X chief business officer Mo Gawdat for the Tuesday business keynote, and FC Barcelona CIO Miriam Ferrando, appearing as part of a Crestron-sponsored Wednesday keynote. A Thursday creative keynote speaker has not yet been named.

The announcement does not give updated attendee or exhibitor targets for 2027, nor does it specify pricing for the new VIP Experience package, which is described as offering a VIP lounge, early access, reserved keynote seating and dedicated meeting rooms.

ISE2027 Grows Floor Space & Spreads To 2 Sites

The organisers of #ISE2027 have unveiled a When Worlds Unite theme for 2027. We are told that the theme reflects the increasingly fluid boundaries between AV, IT, broadcast, content production, creative technology and other sectors as technologies, expertise and ideas move across traditional industry lines.

We would also note that this is only a few weeks after we wrote that #IBC2026 has lost 15,000 atttendees at its show over the last 10 years.

ISE managing director Mike Blackman said at Tuesday’s campaign launch event in Munich ( which once again we were not invited to, Ed ) “ “The most interesting opportunities increasingly exist at the points where different disciplines meet” .

Here are some highlights of what was announced…

ISE will host two events (Spark and EdTech Congress Barcelona) in Hall 8 of Fira Montjuic, a separate site four kilometres away from the Fira Gran Via, (due we believe to the delayed arrival of Hall Zero at the Fira Gran Via)

Spark returns as a two-day event from 3-4 February ( read more here ) with a significantly expanded programme. This initiative connects the AV industry with creators, commissioners and technologists in media, entertainment, live events, gaming and advertising.

The ISE 2027 exhibition floor space is at the moment 7% larger than 2026 (and may even grow more), with the show adding a new Outdoor Structure at the South Access and repeating last year’s successful trial of exhibition booths in the East Access.

The 2027 programme will feature two stages, an immersive pavilion and live showcases across an increased show floor.

EdTech Congress Barcelona will also take place on 3-4 February, aiming to bring the education community further into the ISE ecosystem.

ISE is expanding its content programme in 2027. The paid content programme will be focused around a Megatrends programme, which will double in size, bringing together experts across AI, Robotics & Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Smart Spaces, Sustainability and Tradescape.

ISE 2027 will see an ISE Broadcast Enterprise Studio, Powered by AVIXA TV, in Hall 4.

A new ISE VIP Experience is designed to create an environment where business connections can happen away from the main show floor. VIP benefits include a VIP Lounge in Tibidabo Suite and Garden, early access, hospitality throughout the day, dedicated space to work, meet and connect, all-access content pass, reserved seating for keynotes, VIP entry, and dedicated meeting rooms.

Alongside the paid for content, ISE is introducing an Open Content Programme, which will include a Live Event Stage, Investor Forum, and Fast Forward Friday. This will also be complemented by free-to-attend partner programmes that includes the CEDIA Smart Home Technology Stage, AVIXA Xchange Live, Congreso AVIXA and ISE Insights.

Three dedicated half-day summits will focus on Digital Signage, Cybersecurity and Control Rooms and there will also be a four day CEDIA Smart Home Technology Conference.

ISE has also announced two of its three keynote speakers. On Tuesday, the business keynote will be given by former Chief Business Officer at Google [X] Mo Gawdat .

At the Wednesday Partner Keynote Crestron will bring FC Barcelona’s CIO Miriam Ferrando to the stage, exploring the role technology plays in one of the world’s most prominent sporting and entertainment environments.

The Thursday Creative Keynote will be announced at a later date and is expected to be given by an artist connected to ISE’s work with Casa Batlló.
