Mobile Billboard Operator Hyped Media Joins Australia's OMA

2026-10-16 · via DailyDOOH

Hyped Media, an Australian operator of LED digital billboard trucks, has joined the Outdoor Media Association (OMA), the trade body representing the country's out of home industry. For an operator running mobile digital screens rather than fixed sites, membership is mainly about access to standardized audience data rather than regulatory compliance.

The company runs a fleet of truck-mounted LED screens used for national ad campaigns, a format that sits in the DOOH category but has historically operated somewhat apart from the fixed-panel billboard and street furniture networks that dominate OMA membership. By joining, Hyped Media gains access to MOVE, the OMA's audience measurement currency, which is used across much of the Australian out of home market to tell buyers who is likely seeing a given screen and how often.

Hyped Media managing director James Henry said the move is about strengthening the company's connection with the broader out of home industry. According to Henry, mobile billboards deliver impact, but impact alone is not enough to secure a larger share of media plans. He said advertisers increasingly want to know who they are reaching, what was delivered, and how it was measured, and that OMA and MOVE membership will give advertisers that data alongside the flexibility mobile billboards offer.

OMA CEO Elizabeth McIntyre welcomed the company, saying new members bring fresh perspectives and that Hyped Media's focus on creating impactful experiences makes it a valuable addition.

Why it matters for buyers and operators

For media buyers, the practical effect is that Hyped Media's truck-based inventory can now be evaluated using the same audience metrics applied to static OOH and other DOOH formats in the OMA network, rather than being pitched purely on reach or stunt value. That matters because programmatic and data-driven buying has been pushing harder into out of home generally, and formats without recognized measurement tend to get squeezed out of larger campaign plans regardless of how eye-catching they are.

The announcement does not say when MOVE data for Hyped Media's fleet will be available, how the trucks will be measured compared to fixed panels, or what the membership costs. It also does not disclose the size of Hyped Media's current fleet or which markets beyond "national level" campaigns it serves. Those details would matter to agencies deciding whether to fold mobile billboard trucks into standard OOH buys or continue treating them as a separate, campaign-specific tactic.

Hyped Media, who operate a fleet of LED digital billboard trucks throughout Australia, servicing campaigns on a national level has joined the Australian Outdoor Media Association (OMA).

Hyped Media managing director James Henry said the decision to join the OMA is about strengthening their connection with the broader Out of Home industry and told us “Mobile billboards have always delivered impact, but impact alone isn’t enough to earn a bigger place in the media plan. These days, budgets are tight and advertisers need to know who they’re reaching, what was delivered and how it was measured. Through Hyped Media’s membership of the OMA and MOVE, advertisers will soon get the confidence of data and audience metrics with the flexibility of mobile billboard advertising.”

OMA CEO Elizabeth McIntyre told us “New members bring fresh perspectives, ideas and energy to our industry, and Hyped Media’s focus on creating impactful experiences makes them a valuable addition to the OMA community. Our industry continues to evolve rapidly, and bringing more businesses into the OMA community strengthens our collective voice and creates greater opportunities to share knowledge, collaborate and drive our medium forward.”
