QMS Names Ben Gibb Managing Director for New Zealand

2026-08-21 · via DailyDOOH

QMS has promoted Ben Gibb to the newly created position of Managing Director, New Zealand, effective immediately, the digital out-of-home company announced. Gibb moves up from his previous role as National Sales Director, NZ.

For operators and buyers dealing with QMS in New Zealand, the appointment centralizes strategic direction and day-to-day business execution under one leader rather than splitting sales and operations leadership. QMS describes itself as pursuing the number one out-of-home position in the New Zealand market and frames Gibb's role as unifying the local team as it works across what it calls its multi-format network.

QMS chief executive officer John O'Neill said Gibb is "perfectly placed to lead our New Zealand business forward as we execute on our strategic objectives and cement our number one OOH position in the market." O'Neill also said Gibb "brings a calm, measured and unifying influence to the team" and has "demonstrated an incredible ability to empower our people, strengthen our culture, and deliver outstanding results" since joining the company.

Gibb has more than 20 years of experience across out-of-home, television, digital, and publishing, according to the announcement. He has previously held senior roles at Sky New Zealand, oOh!media, Adshel, and Yahoo.

The announcement does not detail specific strategic objectives, revenue targets, or network expansion plans for the New Zealand market under Gibb's leadership. It also does not say whether the National Sales Director position he vacates will be filled or restructured.

For media buyers and screen operators in the New Zealand out-of-home space, leadership changes at a major digital OOH player like QMS are worth tracking mainly for what they signal about account continuity and future network investment, rather than for any immediate operational change. No changes to QMS's screen network, inventory, or client contracts are mentioned in the release.
