ROE Visual has launched Vanish Acoustics, an acoustically transparent LED panel aimed at theme parks and visitor attractions, through its ROE Display Solutions sub-brand. The panel carries a 2.6mm pixel pitch and is built to let audio pass directly through the LED surface rather than being routed around it.

For operators of dark rides, immersive queues and live spectaculars, this addresses a specific design problem. Screens have historically acted as physical barriers to sound, forcing designers to mount speakers off to the side or hide them behind grilles. According to ROE Visual, that compromise breaks the sense of immersion the moment a visitor spots a speaker or notices audio arriving from the wrong direction. Vanish Acoustics is pitched as a way to keep sound localised to the visuals on screen, which matters for attractions built around spatial storytelling.

The panel supports curves of up to 30 degrees in either concave or convex configurations, according to the company, which is relevant for scenic environments that rarely use flat walls. ROE Visual says its Clean-Face architecture hides the power supply unit and cabling within the frame, a detail aimed at set designers who need the rear and edges of a display to disappear into a themed environment rather than look like installed AV kit.

Where this fits

ROE Visual is positioning Vanish Acoustics as a targeted product for a narrow but high-value niche: permanent visitor attractions, dark rides, theme park builds and immersive experiences, distinct from the touring and broadcast LED work the parent ROE Visual brand is known for. The company frames this as a deliberate expansion into that sector, drawing on its existing track record in immersive environments, concert touring and film production.

The announcement does not give pricing, availability dates, or technical detail on how the acoustic transparency is achieved at the panel level, nor does it name competing acoustically transparent displays already in the market. It also does not specify brightness, refresh rate, or environmental ratings, all of which matter for anyone speccing a display for a themed attraction that may run for years with heavy foot traffic.

For integrators and attraction operators, the pitch is straightforward: fewer visible speakers, tighter integration between audio and visual design, and a curved form factor suited to scenic builds rather than flat digital signage deployments. Whether that translates into real installations will depend on details the release does not cover, including cost and how the product performs against existing solutions already used in dark ride and queue-line design.

The Vanish Acoustics series is aimed at the visitor attraction and theme park market and allows high-fidetliy audio to emanate directly through an LED canvas with a 2.6mm pixel pitch.

ROE Display Solutions has introduced an acoustically transparent LED panel aimed at the visitor attraction and theme park market.

Vanish Acoustics is designed to address the long-standing conflict between visual displays and spatial audio, or sound localisation.

Traditionally in dark rides, immersive queues and live spectaculars, screens have acted as acoustic barriers, forcing designers to place speakers around or away from the visuals.

With a 2.6mm pixel pitch, the Vanish Acoustics panel offers a high level of visual fidelity, as well as perfectly localised sound.

The panel’s high-precision curving system facilitates curves of up to 30° in either concave or convex LED walls, enabling it to be integrated into complex scenic environments. Its Clean-Face architecture conceals the power supply unit and cables within the frame.

ROE Visual is pursuing focused expansion into the permanent visitor attraction sector with its sub brand ROE Display Solutions from a background of success in immersive environments, global entertainment, blockbuster film sets, and major concert tours.

‘Ultimate blank canvas’ Reuben Gunter, ROE Visual’s AV business development manager for the UK, said: “We understand that in the visitor attraction industry, the magic lies in absolute immersion.

“The moment a guest spots a hidden speaker grille or notices audio coming from the wrong direction, that suspension of disbelief is broken.

“Vanish Acoustics gives creatives the ultimate blank canvas. They can now design breathtaking, curved visual worlds without having to sacrifice high-fidelity, localised audio.”
